KGMB article on Ching Field

KGMB Note: “University leaders used o’o, a Hawaiian digging tool, to turn over the first dirt at the site.”

About the importance of the new turf at Ching Field, JD said:
“It helps our football program probably most immediately, because we only have a grass field, and as you know it rains in Manoa quite a bit, so it really tears up the grass if you don’t have another artificial surface to play on.” (KGMB)

KGMB Note: “The resurfacing work is expected to be completed in six to eight weeks at a cost of just over $850,000. “
